Veld gives advisors and landowners a single, unified view of their land living its best life — what the farm produces today, what the vegetation stores in value, and what they could all generate tomorrow.
The Problem
Farmers make critical decisions with disconnected information, for land that is part of a connected ecosystem. Current tools give yesterday's data, one dimension at a time. Veld connects the serious science of nature to the farmer that makes the call on each bit of land.
Soil tests live in one place, pasture readings in another, environmental reports somewhere else entirely. Just tracking it down to send to your advisors takes hours — and they spend even more hours stitching it together.
Existing platforms tell you what happened. None of them tell you what should happen next — or bring to life what the land could best produce with different choices.
The tools that do exist require specialist interpretation. A fourth-generation Hawke's Bay farmer shouldn't need a data scientist to understand what his land is telling him.
The Platform
For the Landowner
Not a dashboard — a genuine understanding of your land's performance and potential with one glance. And confidence about your choices.
For the Advisor
Everything you need to give confident, evidence-backed recommendations — without the data archaeology
"Every piece of land has more value than today's tools will tell you."

How Veld Works
Some of you are working land that's been in the family since 1955. Finding a deed shouldn't be the barrier to understanding what your land is worth. So we took the forms, the document hunts, and the data entry off the table.
Confirm your property boundaries on a map. That's all we need from you. No forms. No documents. No data entry.
We draw on specialist data partners to build a picture of what your land is earning, missing, and could unlock — broken down to 10×10m blocks.
Your first report comes with a consultation. An expert walks you through the findings — especially the carbon side, which is new territory for most farmers.
Take the report and run with it yourself — or lean on us. We'll connect you with the right people to make it happen.
The assessment is live now. Below, you can see what the platform delivers today and where the full offering is heading.
One tile, one report. A clear picture of what your land produces, what it could unlock, and where returns are being left on the table.
The assessment is the foundation. Services stack on top — each a practical layer farmers can add when they need arms and legs to act on the report.
Veld is currently in prototype with a small group of pilot farms. The services layer above is on our roadmap and not yet commercially available.
Who it's for
Veld is built for farmers who know something could be better — they just don't have the tools to prove it.
New to the farm
I just inherited the farm from my father and I reckon I can get more out of the family farm.
Balancing production & carbon
Farming feeds and trees pay. I don't want to convert the entire farm to forest — I just need to find the right balance.
Erosion & land-use decisions
There are slopes that are visibly eroding every year, but we still put fert on it for low yield. My gut says there's a better use for it.
Carbon opportunity
I may not be an expert in carbon sequestering, but my gut tells me there is value in our vegetation — especially if we plant smart.
Our Mission
New Zealand's land is among the most productive on earth. But too much of its value goes unrealised — not through lack of effort, but through lack of unified relevant information. Veld exists to close that gap. We're building land intelligence tools that connect the serious science of nature — soil science, pasture growth potential, carbon opportunity, erosion and run-off risk — to the people who make decisions about it every day. Presented simply.
The Team
As an incubation company from Agnition — Ravensdown's agritech and innovation arm, Veld is the brainchild of soil scientists, environmental consultants and serial innovation business-builders.
Hamish Allan
Ravensdown Environmental Consulting
Passionate about bringing productivity and environmental tools together for the farmer. Leading a national team of environmental consultants gave him a front-row seat to the decisions farmers and advisors face daily, and the gaps that hold land managers back.
Ei-Mynn Loo
Agnition Digital Solutions
Keeps the sprint moving. Experienced in agile delivery across industries, including e-commerce, agronomy supplies and business consulting. Lives on a small farm in Central Otago.
Rob Murray
Precision Application Science & IP
Double PhD in soil science and precision nutrient application from Lincoln University. Former research lead at AgResearch. Grew up on a sheep and beef farm in Bay of Plenty, and still farming on weekends via Zoom with the family farm.

Common Questions
Veld is designed for pastoral and arable farms in New Zealand — sheep and beef, dairy, and mixed finishing operations. We're built around the specific land types, climate zones, and benchmarking data that matter to NZ producers. International markets are on the roadmap, but we're starting here, and doing it properly.
Veld pulls together intelligence from specialist data partners — each rigorously selected for the quality of their science. Our pasture and soil layer draws on Ravensdown's patented HawkEye Pro engine that takes 40 years of NZ soil data to model your farm's production potential and compare it to its history, all without you lifting a finger. Our Carbon Crop engine surfaces environmental risk zones and opportunities in your carbon layer. In time, we intend to add more intelligence, but we really kick the tyres before we partner.
Completely. Your farm's data is yours. It's never shared with other users, used for training without your consent, or sold to third parties. We use aggregated, anonymised benchmarking data to power comparisons — your individual farm data is never part of that pool without explicit agreement from you.
We're onboarding a small group of advisors and landowners in Hawke's Bay and Waikato to test the platform with real farm data. Early access participants get one-on-one setup support, direct input into product direction, and significantly discounted pricing when we launch commercially. We're not offering a demo — we're offering a working product with a real team behind it.
We're targeting a broader New Zealand launch in late 2026. We're not rushing it. The early access phase is genuinely about getting the product right with a small group of farms before we scale. If you're interested in being part of that, now is the right time to register.
The Science
Veld's nutrient models are built from decades of science and validation against local conditions throughout New Zealand. Our experimental economic modelling is in the validation process, which is expected to conclude late 2026.
Our soil intelligence layer utilises data and information based on work and recommendations described in FANZ knowledge base and summarised in their published series of industry booklets.
