Advisor and farmer walking together on a New Zealand hill farm

What's your best
land use worth?

New Zealand's land holds more value than most farmers realise — not through lack of effort, but through lack of unified information. Veld exists to close the gap — giving farmers and their advisors a single connected view of what each piece of land could be worth.

One plot of land. One best future. A dozen disconnected numbers.

Nature doesn't work in silos — but today's tools do. The land is a connected ecosystem, yet farmers are handed yesterday's data, one dimension at a time. Veld reflects the science of how your land actually works.

Scattered data, no synthesis

Soil tests live in one place, pasture readings in another, environmental reports somewhere else entirely. Just tracking it down to send to your advisors takes hours — and they spend even more hours stitching it together.

Point-in-time, not predictive

Existing platforms tell you what happened. None of them tell you what should happen next — or bring to life what the land could best produce with different choices.

Built for analysts, not farmers

The tools that do exist require specialist interpretation. A fourth-generation Hawke's Bay farmer shouldn't need a data scientist to understand what his land is telling him.

Insights from the land, matched with your goals.

For the Landowner

Clarity on what opportunity you own.

Not a dashboard — a genuine understanding of your land's performance and potential at a glance. And the confidence to act on it.

  • Plain-language farm performance summary updated each season
  • Visual productivity map showing what's performing, what isn't, and the best use for each piece of land
  • Comparison of precise nutrient placement benefits against a single rate optimised for your farm. Pocket the savings or reinvest them for greater returns
  • Comparison of carbon opportunity against what you have already lodged. Unlock new revenue without planting a single tree — or reinvest for long-term income
  • See where your land is vulnerable to erosion and environmental risk — and turn that knowledge into a confident revenue-generating decision
  • Land decision modelling — explore different land-use decisions and see how each one changes your costs, returns, and opportunity

For the Advisor

Your practice, sharper.

Everything you need to give confident, evidence-backed recommendations — without the data archaeology

  • Unified farm intelligence across soil, pasture, climate, production, and erosion history
  • Maps you can show your client, zoomable to 15×15m — so they can see the 'why' behind your recommendations. Respond to alternatives in real-time
  • Scenario modelling — compare management options against real benchmarks
  • Client-ready reports generated automatically from your insights
  • Collaborative workspace to annotate, share, and track recommendations over time

Just your address. We do the rest.

Some of you are farming land that's been in the family for generations. Finding a deed shouldn't be the barrier to understanding what it's worth. So we removed the forms, the document hunts, and the data entry entirely.

01

Enter your address

Confirm your property boundaries on a map. That's all we need from you. No forms. No documents. No data entry.

02

We build your report

We draw on specialist partners to build a picture of what your land is earning, missing, and could unlock — broken down to 15×15m blocks.

03

We walk you through it

Your first report comes with a consultation. An expert walks you through the findings — especially the carbon side, which is new territory for most farmers.

04

You decide what's next

Take the report and run with it yourself — or lean on us. We'll connect you with the right people to make it happen.

Veld Assessment

One tile, one report. A clear picture of what your land produces, what it could unlock, and where returns are being left on the table.

  • Opportunities
Where your land is under-earning, ranked by potential return.
  • Nutrient maintenance insights
Where precision fertiliser placement saves money without losing productivity.
  • Nutrient Capital investment opportunities
Which blocks warrant additional investment to provide even greater rewards.
  • Carbon assessment
Where new revenue sits in the land you're already working.
  • Environmental risk assessment
Know where your land is vulnerable — and make proactive decisions that add revenue and reduce long-term cost.
  • 15m × 15m block-level precision
Recommendations down to the block, not averaged across the farm.
On the roadmap · Veld Services

A full stack of support.

The assessment is the foundation. Services stack on top — practical support for when you're ready to act.

  • Expert consultation
Bundled with your first report. Extra hours on demand.
  • Soil testing
On-the-ground sampling to sharpen the assessment.
  • Native tree planting
Contractor partnerships for riparian, pole, and block planting.
  • Exotic tree planting

Farmers know their land. Advisors help them act on it.

Veld is built for farmers and advisors who know something could be better — and want the data to back it up.

New to the farm

I just inherited the farm from my father and I reckon I can get more out of the family farm.

Balancing production & carbon

Farming feeds and trees pay. I don't want to convert the entire farm to forest — I just need to find the right balance.

Erosion & land-use decisions

There are slopes that are visibly eroding every year, but we still put fert on it for low yield. My gut says there's a better use for it.

Carbon opportunity

I may not be an expert in carbon sequestering, but my gut tells me there is value in our vegetation — especially if we plant smart.

Feed testing kit on New Zealand farm

Better land decisions, through better information.

New Zealand's land is among the most productive on earth. But too much of its value goes unrealised — not through lack of effort, but through lack of unified relevant information. Veld exists to close that gap. We build tools that connect the science of the land — soil science, pasture growth potential, carbon opportunity, erosion and run-off risk — to the people who make decisions about it every day. Presented simply.

  • Scientific Every insight is traceable to data. We don't speculate — our science team evaluates and selects only the most credible field-tested engines to power our recommendations.
  • Connected We join the dots so you can focus on the decisions, not the data. Model different choices and see exactly what each one means for your bottom line.
  • Human We field-test with all sorts. If a farmer can't understand it, we go back to the drawing board. If a non-farmer can't understand it, we go back to the drawing board. Until we get it right.
  • Easy as Confirm your boundaries on a map. No forms, no old reports. We walk you through your first report — especially useful for carbon and erosion, which are new territories for most farmers. After that, it's as low-touch or hands-on as you want.

What you'd ask if we were sitting across from you.

What kind of farms does Veld work for?

Veld is designed for pastoral and arable farms in New Zealand — sheep and beef, dairy, and mixed finishing operations. We're built around the specific land types, climate zones, and benchmarking data that matter to NZ producers. International markets are on the roadmap, but we're starting here, and doing it properly.

How does Veld get its data and recommendations?

Veld pulls together intelligence from specialist data partners — each rigorously selected for the quality of their science. Our pasture and soil layer draws on Ravensdown's patented HawkEye Pro engine – built on 40 years of NZ soil data, it models your farm's production potential and compares it against its history, all without you lifting a finger. Our partner CarbonCrop provides our carbon layer, with data on existing vegetation cover, environmental risk zones, and analysis of forest carbon opportunities. We'll add more partners over time — but we rigorously evaluate every one before we commit.

Is our farm data kept private?

Completely. Your farm's data is yours. It's never shared with other users, used for training without your consent, or sold to third parties. We use aggregated, anonymised benchmarking data to power comparisons — your individual farm data is never part of that pool without explicit agreement from you.

What does early access look like?

We're onboarding a small group of advisors and landowners to test the platform with real farm data. Early access participants get one-on-one support, direct input into product direction, and significantly discounted pricing when we launch commercially. We're not offering a demo — we're offering a working product with a real team behind it.

When will Veld be available to everyone?

We're targeting a broader New Zealand launch in late 2026. We're not rushing it. The early access phase is genuinely about getting the product right with a small group of farms before we scale. If you're interested in being part of that, now is the right time to register.

The Science

Grounded in research. Tested on New Zealand land.

Veld's nutrient models are built from decades of science, validated against local conditions across New Zealand. Our prototype economic modelling is currently being validated, with that process expected to conclude in late 2026.
